John D. Young

John D. Young brings more than 35 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience and deep expertise in corporate strategy, business development, portfolio management and commercialization of innovative medicines. He joined Pfizer in 1987 as a sales representative and held positions of increasing seniority, including managerial roles in the United Kingdom and Australia, and was a member of Pfizer’s Executive Leadership Team for a decade. He served as Group President and Chief Business Officer from 2019 until 2022, following earlier leadership of Pfizer’s Innovative Health, Essential Health and Global Primary Care businesses, and as Senior Advisor to the CEO in 2022. In addition to Slate Medicines, Mr. Young currently serves on the boards of Novartis AG and Johnson Controls International, and as Chairman of the Board of Trogenix. He holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Glasgow and an MBA from Strathclyde Graduate Business School.
